52 on Fridays (2/52) sparkle

Love your tones and the sparkle!! I need to capture a shot like this at some point! Any tips to get this shot?

Tracy, I used a tripod and set the shutter speed to something very slow to get more of the sparkle. I took the picture at dusk to get more color in the sky, then I brought up the blacks and use a vintage action (most likely from the Coffee Shop blog because I'm working with as many free resources as I can). The action uses a good bit of violet.

And a little secret? She was wearing a hilarious character tee from Walmart in this shot. It has fries in berets and says "French Fries". She is so upset that I took those out of the picture. lol!
