I've seen more than a few cars in central Mississippi sporting "Pray for Jackson" bumper stickers lately, and I honestly appreciate the idea. If you are sending positive thoughts in my direction, you are welcome to pray to God, Tom Cruise, the trees, or even mayonnaise. But you know what would be really great? Come to the city often and spend your money here. When you choose to eat at a restaurant, drive into Jackson and eat at one of our many nationally recognized local establishments. Need a new outfit? Maybe a new car? How about art? We have all of that in Jackson, and every dollar you spend will do as much to help the city as a prayer will do. Visit the 3/50 Project and think about how applying the ideas there would go a long way towards keeping the heart of our metro area thriving. It's not easy, and I don't always choose local over online like I should, but I'm going to be making that choice a priority this year, and I would love to see others join me. I'm also going to entourage more people to take advantage of great urban locations for photo sessions. Take a look at how Holly rocked out a session at Mississippi Museum of Art's Art Garden. The converted parking lot is the ideal picnic and play area. You can find this amazing graffiti in the walkway between the museum and Thalia Mara Hall.
Want to hear about more beauty in the city? Visit my friend Kathy at Roses and Rattles Photography for a view of a pretty amazing space that is calling her name. I hope your dreams come true soon, Kathy!

Awesome graffiti! I try and remember to buy local and small business - it's hard sometimes to choose as it is usually more costly....but I'm working on it!
Fun!!! Holly did rock it and so did you! I know what you mean about buying locally, when I can't find what I'm looking for I go to Etsy to support independent artists. I've been very pleased with all my purchases from several shops.
I Love the colors in here!
WOW! LOVEEEE these colors. And I love that dress. The purple/blackish transition it makes is really cool. Goes perfectly with her scenery.
I like how you used the theme to speak about your city. It's hard to remember all the little things we can do to help, especially in this fast paced society where we tend to say our prayers and move on.
Love the images! The graffiti is fun! Great choice.
P.S. Thank you! I hope my dream comes true too!
