One of the things I love about our 52 on Fridays group is that we push each other to try new things. I have never tried using textures before this week's post. I happened to have one lonely texture saved in my photography files, so I played around with it on one of my favorite recent senior girl shots just to see what would happen. The shot on top is the original and the one on bottom is the same shot with something called "autumn texture free fan version". The blending mode is soft light, the opacity is around 75%, and the areas over her skin and dress have been masked out.
I even went to Jessica Drossin's site and found a couple more free textures to try. The bottom image looks so much like my freebie texture that I wonder if they are the same.
So what do you think? I'm not sure it still looks like my work, but the results are pretty and interesting.
For more fun with textures, please visit my friend, Sarah, at Ozarks Fare Grounds. I love what she does. And if you are on Instagram, you absolutely must follow her.

Gorgeous! I love the two that look similar:) Your work is gorgeous no matter what!
love it! I do love your edit the softer texture more though :0) Beautiful girl too!
what a beautiful photo you have to work with! I really like the top texture the best, seems to have the perfect tone w/o a lot of evidence of an added texture.
Love your interpretation of texture! =) Thisis beautiful! My favorite is the second one =)
textures are so much fun! and i really like what you did ;)
