52 on Fridays (16/52) Details

I remember the exact moment I truly embraced spirituality and an existence of a higher power. My math team peer, Laura, was giving a presentation on Pascal's Triangle at a competition and suddenly everything clicked. It wasn't that "the Devil is in the details" as the idiom suggests, but that, for me, God is in the small details all around us. The beautiful order and symmetry of nature are too well defined for me to feel it is all accidental.
The short movie Nature by Numbers by Cristobal Vila beautifully illustrates many of the relationships between mathematics and nature. The highly entertaining Vi (now a member of the Khan Academy team) can give you a quirky look at numbers that appear in plants. I will spare you the equations in this post and share a simple shell we found in our backyard. It's barely 1 cm diameter is dwarfed by my tiny 8 year old's hand. Somewhere in this picture I see God. I hope you find what you need today in the small details of your life, too.

Beautiful Tifani. I hope you are having a peaceful day. I love that your shell is perfectly imperfect:)

Oh wow. What an awesome way to look at the things around you. I'll be looking out for these tiny reminders myself now. That last photo with the details in her had, and on that shell...just everything.... wow. Just, wow.
